日本を訪れた時に驚くのは、驚くほどたくさんの種類のドリンクがあることです。自動販売機ですら、あらゆる種類のとっても品質が高く、おいしいドリンクが提供されています。私の大好物は、いつだってこのロイヤルミルクティーです。
ロイヤルミルクティーはとってもクリーミーでリッチな味わい。暑い日に冷たく冷やしたミルクティーをいただくと、心地よくリフレッシュできます。私の放課後のおやつにはこのドリンクと美味しい メロンパンで決まり。ホットでいただいてもとっても美味しいですよ。ここでは両方のバージョンをご紹介しますね。
紅茶
和風ロイヤルミルクティーでお使いいただける紅茶の種類はいくつかあります。
- ダージリン (インド) - 色は薄く、フローラルな香り
- アッサム (インド) - 色は濃く、豊かな風味でモルティなフレーバー
- セイロンウバ (スリランカ) - 琥珀色でコクのある味わい
私は、ダージリンを75%使い、ライトな色と繊細なフローラルな香りを出し、25%はアッサムにして、深みとコクを出します。
材料
- ダージリンティー
- アッサムティー
- 牛乳
- 水
- ガムシロップかハチミツ

作り方
紅茶のおいしさを最大限に引き出すためには、まず、茶葉をしっかりと開かせます。そのために、小さなボウルに茶葉を入れ、ちょうど茶葉が浸るくらいの沸騰したお湯を注ぎましょう。その間に、小さなお鍋で牛乳とお水を温めます。
お鍋の牛乳とお水が沸騰する直前に、お湯に浸しておいた茶葉を加え、火から下ろします。スプーンでかき混ぜます。お鍋に蓋をし、4分ほど待ちます。(アイスでいただく場合は5分待ちます。)ティーカップにはお湯を入れて温めておきます。
蒸らしが終わったらもう一度かき混ぜ、ボウルか、注ぎ口の付いたメジャーカップに濾しながら注ぎます。ここで甘味を加えましょう。日本では、ガムシロップという液体状のお砂糖がよく使われますが、お好みのお砂糖をお使いいただけます。私はハチミツを使っています。
ティーカップのお湯を捨て、ミルクティーを注ぎます。ホットでいただく場合はこれで完成です。
私は、和風ロイヤルミルクティーを冷たく冷やしてしていただくのが大好き。こちらの方法をお試しになる場合は、ミルクティーが入ったボウルを冷蔵庫で冷やし、氷を一杯に入れたグラスに注いで出来上がりです。
代用
日本では、ロイヤルミルクティーに甘味を加える際には「ガムシロップ」という液体状の砂糖がよく使われます。私はハチミツを使いますが、お好みの甘味料をお使いになれます。
保存
和風ロイヤルミルクティーは密閉容器に入れて冷蔵庫で2~3日保存できます が、 作ったその日にいただくのが一番美味しいです。

ほのかなフローラルの香りが漂う、濃厚でクリーミーなミルクティーです。この有名な日本の紅茶レシピはホットでもアイスでもお楽しみいただけます。
材料
2人分の量(1人分については美味しく作るコツをご確認ください。注:半分ではありません。)
1 ½ 小さじ (山盛り) x ダージリンティー茶葉
½ 小さじ (山盛り) x アッサムティー茶葉
300 ml 牛乳
100 ml 水
ガムシロップ(もしくはハチミツ)お好みで
作り方
小さなボウルに茶葉を量って入れます。茶葉が完全に浸るくらいの量の熱湯を注ぎます。茶葉が開いてきます。
[ホット:ティーカップに熱湯を入れて温めておきます]
小さなお鍋に牛乳と水を入れて中温で温めます。沸騰する直前に、熱湯に浸していた茶葉を加え、火から下ろします。スプーンでかき混ぜます。
お鍋に蓋をします。ホットでいただく場合は4分、冷たくしていただく場合は5分蒸らします。
もう一度かき混ぜ、ボウルか注ぎ口のついたメジャーカップに濾しながら注ぎます。お好みでハチミツなどで甘味を加えます。
ホットの場合:ティーカップの熱湯を捨て、ミルクティーを注ぎます。
アイスの場合:冷蔵庫で十分に冷やし、氷の上から注ぎます。

Very good recipe. No more regular milk tea for me. I had no Darjeeling but it tastes fine with just Assam as well. This is the first out of similar recipes that I actually managed not to burn the milk. First I was afraid that the temperature was not hot enough but it turned out just perfect. The only problem for me was that the serving size for one is too small for me. So next time I will use the amount for two servings.
