The French word éclair translates to 'a bolt of lightning'. The famous pastry was named as such because it is said to be so delicious that it is eaten with the speed of a lightning bolt. I can say that I feel the same way about this shot strawberry éclair shot. Made with just three ingredients, they somehow magically combine to make a delicious strawberry dessert in your mouth when it hits your taste buds.

Sometimes after a meal you're just too full to go for dessert, but still crave a little taste of something sweet. This is the perfect solution. I think this would be a really neat treat to serve guests at the end of a dinner party.
What I imagine I'm tasting as I drink this strawberry éclair shot..
Ingredients
- Frangelico hazelnut liqueur
- Strawberry liqueur - I used Giffard crème de fraise de bois
- Freshly squeezed lime juice
See the recipe card below for quantities.
Instructions
This drink is so easy to make. Shake the three ingredients together vigorously for about twenty seconds in a cocktail shaker with ice. Then, strain into a tall shot glass.
Equipment
To make this drink, you will need a cocktail shaker and a cocktail strainer. It is a rather large shot, coming out to be 2.25 oz, so you should have large shot glasses on hand.
Origin
All that I could find about the origin of the strawberry éclair shot is that it originated in Australia, in the nineties or perhaps earlier. Well, to whoever created this, you're a genius. ❤️🍓
